  it is the series of prime number
  2 , 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17 , ......
  
  square of those number which are in even no. places
  
  like 2nd number, 4th number, 6th no. & so on
  
  you will get the series
  2, 9 ,5, 49 ,11, 169 ,17
  2, 3^2 ,5, 7^2 ,11, 13^2 ,17
  so next prime number is 17 it is in 7th place so put this without its square
  
  next element will be 17

  i think answer is 23...
  becoz..
  take 2 and check alternate series from their..
  2+2=4
  add 1 to ans 4+1=5,
  similarlay...5+5+1=11
  so next number will be..11+11+1=23
