Is y=7?
A)(x-4)=0
B)(x-3)(y-7)=0
i don't remember the options... options were like neither of the two, both statements and the other two i forgot...options were tricky one... if anyone remembers plz comment...

with both A) and B) - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(19) No(5)
- only B) because y=7 irrespective of the value of x
from B) either (x-3)=0 or (y-7)=0 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(14) No(13)
- The value of Y is very much satisfied by equation second. Recall quadratic equations roots....so value of Y doesn't depend upon value of X. so, answer is only statement 2.

- A)(x-4)=0 so x=4
B)(x-3)(y-7)=0 substitute x=4 in b) we get (4-3)(y-7)=0
so y=7
both the statements are required..... - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(12) No(2)
- The Answer is C
Because With Statement B we are not sure of value of Y it can be or can not be 7
But if we combine then we get our actual answer y=7.. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(2)
- from(B) (x-3)=0 and (y-7)=0
Clearly (y-7)=0 gives y=7. we don't care about the value of x. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(1)
- (x-3)(7-7)=0
(x-3)*0=0
so option b is enough to prove y=7 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(2)
- we need both 1 and 2
because
by using 1 statement x-4=0
x=4
by substituting x=4 in statement 2
then we have (4-3)(y-7)=0
1.(y-7)=0
therefore, y=7
So we required both statements - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(2)
- Here's the solution of equation in option B). it clearly shows why with only (B) we can find our required answer !!

- Guys please elaborate..

- If we take Y=9 and X=3 or Y=7 and X=any value then also statement B satisfy. There is no confirmation of X value. So, we have to consider both statements.
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(1)
- we can do it by taking this 2 option suppose
if we 1st data we cn get the values of x=4
then in option b if we put
the value of x=4 ie (4-3)(y-7) then we can get y=7
ANSWER IS BOTH OPTION - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(2)
- alone b is sufficient
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- option B
(y-7)=0/(x-3)
y=7 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(2)
