This time, the hour hand is exactly on a different minute mark and the minute hand is seven minutes ahead of it. How much time elapsed between the first and second observation ?
Read Solution (Total 2)
-
- 2hours 12 minutes
The minute hand is exactly 6 minutes ahead of hour hand at 1:12 (also hour hand is exactly at minute mark)
The minute hand is exactly 7 minutes ahead of hour hand at 3:24 (also hour hand is exactly at minute mark)
so time elapsed = 3 hr 24 min - 1 hr 12 min
= 2hr 12 min - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(1)
- Possible cases when minute hand and hour hand both are indicating at the minute mark: X hours: 12 min: X hour: 24 min, X hour: 36 min, X hour: 48 min. (Because hour hand indicates the minute mark after every 12 min)
There is a 6 min space between hour hand and minute hand at 1 :12 hrs ....
(I). Any other case does not satisfy the condition. There is a 7 min space between hour hand and minute hand is at 3:24 hrs ....
(II). Again, the condition is not satisfied in any other case. In both the cases, hour hand is behind the minute hand. Total time elapsed between the first and the second observation is 2 hours and 12 minutes. - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
