How many liters of pure water should be evaporated(removed) from 160 liters of 12% saline(salt) solution so that the solution that remains is a 20% solution?
Read Solution (Total 1)
-
- 64 liters
Given ---> In 160 liters 12% is salt solution
ie, 160*12/100 = 19.2 liters of salt
Let x be the solution that contains 20% salt after evaporation.
so amount of salt = 20/100 *x
Since the salt content in solution does not change
20/100*x = 19.2
x = 96 liters
ie remaining solution is 96 liters
Therefore liters of pure water evaporated = 160 - 96 = 64 liters - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
