Maths Puzzle
a circle O diameter 2 cm,has a square inscribed in it,taking each side as diameter draw 4 circles, and find the total area of circle outside the circle O
Read Solution (Total 2)
-
- side of square = root 2.
Dia of each circle = root 2.
Radius of each circle = 2/root 2 = 1/root 2
Area of each citcle = pi* (1/root2)^2 = pi/2
Area of 4 circles = 2 pi
Area of circle O = Pi *1*1=Pi
total area of circle outside the circle O = 2 Pi -pi=pi - 13 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- diameter of circle o=2cm, & this will be the diagonal for square.
so each side of square will be 2^(1/2)cm.
now,area of circle 0=pi, area of square=2
remaining area=area of circle o-area of square=pi-2
now,area of 4 semicircle=4pi*r^2/2=pi
so,total area of circle outside circle o=area of 4 semicircle-remaining area
=pi-(pi-2)=2
so the answer is 2 cm^2.(NOTE-you can easily understand these steps after drawing a rough figure) - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
