- Let initially Mathematicians be M0.
Given M0=14*0.25
Now to make a team of 10/12 Mathematicians engineers, lets add x no of engineers(who are mathematicians).
So, (M0+x)/(14+x)=10/12
=>x=49
Answer 49 mathematicians should be hired - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(20) No(3)
- If a team consists 14 persons in which 25% are mathematicians then
14*(25/100)=3.5
If x mathematicians are hired so that the ratio would become 10/12, then
(3.5+x)/(14+x) = 10/12
12*(3.5+x) = 10*(14+x)
42+12x = 140+ 10x
x= 49

- 7/12
Present mathematician in 14 person=14*25/100=7/2, i.e. 7/2 in 14 person or 7/28
If mathematicians to be hired=x
(7/28)+x=(10/12), x=7/12 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(5) No(8)
- 10/12=0.833
now mathe... avaliable 25%=0.25
so, 0.25+x=0.833
ans:0.583 ~ 7/12 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(5)
- 25/100*14=7/2
to obtain 10/12 maths team,we have to add some x to the 7/2
so x=7/2-10/12=8/3 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(8)
- Which is the correct answer

- 100%----------14
25%-----------7/2(3.5)
from this i can say that we cannot determine the answer becoz
from (3.5) generally 3 persons are mathematicans and what is 0.5 mean??????
so ans:can't determine
