30% increases in price of eggs, 3 eggs are less avail for 7.80 so present rate of eggs per dozen?
Read Solution (Total 3)
-
- 9.36
Let x be the initial price of egg and n number of eggs
x*n = 7.8--(1)
Price increases by 30%
new price = x + 30/100*x
=13/10*x
13/10*x (n-3)= 7.8
x * (n-3) = 6
x*n - 3x = 6
7.8 - 3x = 6
x =0.6
new price = 130/100*0.6=0.78
Rate per dozen = 0.78*12 = Rs9.36 per dozen

- Let the original price per egg be Rs x
Then increased price ll be, 130x/100
=>7.80/x − 7.80/130x/100 = 3
=>7.80/x − 780/130x = 3
=>390x=234
=>x=0.6
Actual price was Rs 0.6
Present price per dozen ll be Rs.(12∗130/100∗0.6)= Rs.9.36

- let rate of eggs per dozen be x rs
rate after 30% increase = x*130/100 = 1.3x rs per dozen
then, (7.8/x)*12 - (7.8/1.3x)*12 = 3
=> 7.8*12/x(1 - 1/1.3)= 3
=> x = 7.8*12*.3/ 1.3*3 = 7.2
x = 7.2 per dozen - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(6)
