From a vessel, 1/3rd of the liquid evaporates on the first day. On the second day 3/4th of the remaining liquid evaporates. What fraction of the volume is present at the end of the second day.

  On the second day from the 2/3 3/4 gets evaporated so we get (3/4)*(2/3)=1/2 hence at the end of second day 1/2 will be present

  1st day => liquid evaporate = x/3 and liquid left = 2x/3
  2nd day => liquid evaporate = 2x/3 * 3/4 = x/2,
  liquid left = 2x/3 - x/2= x/6

  => (x/6)/x = 1/6
