- Let "f" nd "s" be the father's nd son's present age respectively
(f+6) = 3(s+6)
f=3s+18-6
f=3s+12
f-3 = 9(s-3)
f = 9s-27+3
f=9s-24
Equate "f"
9s-24 = 3s+12
6s = 36
s=6
f=3(6)+12
f=30
Ans : 30 years - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(48) No(0)
- 3 yr hence
father son
x-3 9(x-3)
9x-27=x-3
x=3-> this is son's age 3 year ago
therefore present age of son is 6yr
----------------------------
and fathers age=9x=9*3=27+3=30
27 is before 3 yrs so add 3into it.,result=30yr

- Let son's age be x years
Father's age is 3 times of his son age = 3*x= 3x
6 year's hence
x + 6 = 3x + 6
3 Year's ago the Fathers age is 9 tines the age of his son
9( x + 6 + 3 ) = 3x + 6
9(x + 9) = 3x + 6
9x + 81 = 3x + 6
6x = 72
x = 72/6
x = 12
6 six Years Hence the fathers present age is age = 3 (12) + 6
= 24+6
= 30 years
