Those are fragments of an awful sentence, taken out of context the way it is. I ran through all four possibilities given, and B sounds the best. The tricky part is punctuating it so it makes sense.

The successful application of any art is delightful, but the theory too is interesting;
though there is a great deal of theory without application, which naturally lacks in conviction.

My reasoning:
A - I would not start a sentence like this with the word 'but' in fragment B
B - sounded plausible
C - I would not start a sentence like this with the 'which' clause in fragment A
D - I would not put fragment A after fragment D
