- Let M nd L be the present ages of Marion nd Les
M-4 = 2/3(L-4)
3M = 2L+4
M = 2L+4/3 --->(1)
M = 3L/4 --->(2)
Equate M
(2L+4)/3 = 3L/4
8L+16 = 9L
L = 16
M = 3/4 * 16 = 12
Marion age is 12
Les age is 16

- let 4 years ago-
les's age=x;so marion's age=2/3x;
now-
les's age=x+4;and marion's age=3/4(x+4);
so...
so we can put
2/3x+4=3/4(x+4);
by solving this we get x=12;
so now....
les's age=16;and
marion's age=12; - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
