Time Distance and Speed
How would I start to solve this problem? A plane leaves an airport at 3 pm. At 4 pm. another plane leaves the same airport travelling the same direction at a speed 150 miles per hour faster than the first plane. Four hours after the first plane takes off, the second plane is 250 miles ahead of the first plane. Find the speed of each plane. How far did the second plane travel?

- Speed=200 mph & 350 mph
If Speed of Plane A= x & Plane B=(x+150)
After four hours,First Plane covers distance=4*x
At the same time,Second Plane will cover distance=3*(x+150)
Given 4x+250=3(x+150), x=200, So (x+150)=350
Distance covered by Second Plane=3*350=1050 miles - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
