  Simply we can consider, if there is no duplicate case, then shopkeeper was having no loss. As the moment duplicate concept is their, he has to pay 1000 extra.

• 200 for his product is received - there is no loss or gain there // 800 given to lady is the amount from neigbouring shop keeper/ he gives 1000 to the neighbouring shop keeper when the later comes and asks // , so total loss on paper is 1000 -- but myanswer is G (other) - since this is an IAS question, the shopkeeper will be fined for having a counterfeit note (the person solving the question knows that :)) and he will go an arrest and fine the shopkeeper.....so final value is variable - but more than 1000
