I am having problems setting this equation up. The problem is: If two cars leave the same location at the same time, And car one is traveling 20 MPH faster than car two in opposite directions, and they are 168 miles apart 1 1/2 hours later...how fast is each one going? Your help is GREATLY needed. Thank you!

I could not find one problem that matched my question. So here it is if a plane in still air can go 270m miles per hour and go 60 miles with a tail wind and 48 miles against a tail How do I find y? The problem is: x-2y=0 (equation 1) 3x+y=0 (equation 2) Right now in my Algebra Honor class we're learning "Solving Systems by substitution" and at first I understood it but now I can't seem to get the answer I want. I don't know what to do so please help!
