  and 2h+4c=60 =>2h+64-4h=60 =>h=2
  
  So there are 2 hens and 14 cows.

  and the second is 2x+4y=60
  on solving both the equation we get x=2, y=14 therefore total number of hens is 2 and total number of cows is 14.
