Time Distance and Speed
a train is moving at a speed of 60 kmph.If the length of the train is 100m , then how long will it take to cross a railway platform 150m long ?
Read Solution (Total 9)
-
- Speed s = 60kmph
=> 60*5/18 m/s
s= 50/3
Length of the train = 100m
t = d/s
Reqd. time = (100+150)/50/3
t=15 secs
Ans : 15 secs - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(10) No(0)
- time will start when train touches the start of the bridge.
time interval will be upto crossing of the last compartment of the bridge.
hence total distance travelled=(100+150)=250m
time =d/c
T=250/(60*5/18)
T=15 sec answer..... - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- speed=50/3 m/ses
total distance =250 m
time=250/(50/3)=15 sec - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- Assuming the time starts when start of the train touches one end platform and stops when other end of it crosses other end of platform train will have to travel 250m to do so.
Speed of train = 60kmph = 25mps
therefore it will take 10 sec - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- total length to cover = 100+150 m,
speed of train in m/s = 60*5/18=50/3
time take to cover = 250*3/50=15s - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- total length=150+100=250m
speed=60kmph=60*(5/18)mps
16.67mps
time=250/16.67
15 sec - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- speed=distance/time
here distance to be covered to cross the flat form is train length+flatform length
i.e.250
time =250*18/(60*5)=15 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
