Time Distance and Speed
The distance between two stations A and B is 300 km. A train leaves station A at the speed of 30 kmph. At the same time another train departs from station B at the speed of 45 kmph. What will be the distance of the point where both the trains meet from the point A?
Read Solution (Total 6)
-
- d = 300 km
A's speed = 30 kmph
B's speed = 45 kmph
Time both trains meet ll be
t=300/(30+45) = 300/75 = 4
Both trains ll meet after 4 hrs
Distance from the point A is
d=t*s
d=4*30 [Since distance from the point A is asked...]
d = 120
Ans : 120 km

- Ans 120
Explaination
relative speed =30+45=75
time when they meet= dis/speed = 300/75 = 4h
distance from A = 4*30=120 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(7) No(1)
- A 30 B 45 per hr
then 2nd hr 30+30 45+45
then 3rd hr 60+30 90+45
then 4th hour 90+30 135+45
total A covers 120 km and B Covers 180
so total distance is 300km so ans is 120km they meet

- distance between two stations= 300km
let the two trains meet at a point xkm from A at time t.
time for both at point x is t.
so
time req for A to reach at x is x/30
time for b to reach x is x+300/45
then
x/30=x+300/45
x= 600km - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(2)
- 30:45=2:3
distance from A=(300/5)*2=120
where 5=2+3 - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- Train from Station A Covers 30km per hr,Train from Station B Covers 45km per hr
So 1st hr Station A train ---Station B train
