A man ate 100 apple in five days daily he ate more than 6 apples when compare to previous day how many apples he ate in first day.......?

• Clearly it is Arithmetic progression as per day 6 apples are increasing.
  So difference d=6;
  to find first day apples i.e a=?
  for 5 days i.e n=5.
  sum of first 5 terms=100
  i.e a+(a+d)+(a+2d)+(a+3d)+(a+4d)=100
  5a+10d=100;
  5a+60=100;
  a=8
  answer is 8 apples at first day
