A man ate 100 apple in five days daily he ate more than 6 apples when compare to previous day how many apples he ate in first day.......?
Read Solution (Total 9)
-
- 1st day x
2nd day x+6
3rd day x+6+6
4th day x+6+6+6
5th day X+6+6+6+6
add all 5x+60=100
5x=40
x=8
answer is 8 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(77) No(6)
- Clearly it is Arithmetic progression as per day 6 apples are increasing.
So difference d=6;
to find first day apples i.e a=?
for 5 days i.e n=5.
sum of first 5 terms=100
i.e a+(a+d)+(a+2d)+(a+3d)+(a+4d)=100
5a+10d=100;
5a+60=100;
a=8
answer is 8 apples at first day - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(15) No(2)
- first day apple=8
second day 8+6=14
3rd day= 14+6=20
4th day= 20+6=26
5th day=26+6=32
8+14+20+26+32=100 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(3)
- A.P. first term=a cd=6 n=5
100/2=5/2(2a+4*6)
=> a=8

- Let the number of apples the man ate on 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th day be
x-12, x-6, x, x+6, x+12
Sum of the apples = (x-12+x-6+x+x+6+x+12) = 5x = 100
x=20.
Number of apples he ate on the 1st day is x-12 = 20-12 = 8. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- x+(x+6)+(x+12)+(x+18)+(x+24)=100;
then,5x+60=100;
so, x=8 is the answr - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- 8+14+20+26+32=100
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- simple way
6+12+18+24+30=90
then
add 2 in all
8+14+20+26+32=100
so 1 day ate 8p. - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- Sn=n/2(2a+(n-1)d)
Sn=100 , n=5 , d=6
put values
100=5/2(2a+4*6)
100=5(a+12)
100= 5a+60
8=a Ans - 2 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
