Read Solution (Total 3)

- 130 liters
If capacity of the tank is 'x' liters, then 0.8x-25= 0.5x+14, x=39/0.3=130 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(9) No(0)
- totally 0.8 portion filled by water
remaining 0.2 is empty (not to bother)
the trick is in "14 litres of excess water over the half filled up tank remains it".
so full tank is 1.0 portion half is 0.5
however they taken 25 litres water and 14 litres remaining from half...
so, for 0.3 portion 39 litres
for 0.1 portion 13 litres..
as well as
1.0 (full tank) portion 130 litres
thats it..

- consider 80% of tank is filled.......50% is half of tank
if 25l is taken out then 14l remains above the half filled tank(50%)
that means in between 80% and 50% 0f tank there was total of 25+14=39l of water
therefore
if 30%of tank = 39l
then 100%of tank= ?
ans is 130 l - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
