• I guess 162
  dimension of each smaller cube is 1*1*1, since 7*7*7=343 & it is made of 343 smaller cube so dimension of any smaller cube is 1-1-1.
  now 3*3*3=27, therefore 27 smaller 1-1-1 cube has to be replace from each face
  since we have total 6 faces, therefore 27*6=162

• I think There is something wrong with the question because if we have inserted two 3*3*3 cubes on opposite faces of 7*7*7 cube how can we place another 3*3*3 on other faces as the 3*3*3 cube replaced earlier will resist them.
