Time Distance and Speed
If a person walks at 14 km/hr instead of 10 km/hr, he would have walked 20 km more. The actual distance travelled by him is:
A. 50 km B. 56 km
C. 70 km D. 80 km

- 50 kms... option A
if he actually travelled x kms @ 10 kmph , then he can travel x+20 km @ 14 kmph in same time, then
x/10 = (x+20)/14
14x = 10x+200
x=50 kms - 13 years agoHelpfull: Yes(19) No(3)
- Answer is A. differnce between speed 4 km/hr. Need 5 hours to cover 20Km. So the totla distance is 10*5

- I think C because the actual distance travelled by him 70
x+20 =50+20=70
so 70 is correct answer

- answer is 50km 14km/h he go x+20
10km/h
he go x 4km/h he covers 20km per hour he go 5km in 10km/h he go 50km - 13 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(1)
- let the actual distance walked is x km.
speed which is maintain to cover x km =10km/hr.
a/q,
new speed =14km/hr.
distance covered =20+x km
now as the man is travelling in same direction equate both the condition by using the formula..
x/10=x+20/14
after solving u will get the answer

- For the same interval if the person travelled in 14 kmph so only.
or else you could solve like this
1st hour 10 =14
2nd hour 20 =28
3rd hour 30 =42
4th hour 40 =56
5th hour 50 =70
At speed 10 kmph he reaches 50 km at the same time if he travels in 14 kmph he would reach 70 km. So 70 - 50 = 20. I think u got it. - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- 50 km/hr
we can travel 50 km in 5 hours with the speed of 10 km/hr.
we can travel 70 km in 5 hours with the speed of 14 km/hr.
The difference is 20 km - 6 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
