- losses are respectively
1) goods = 200
2) lady = 800 Rs
3) shopkeeper 2 = 1000 Rs
total loss = (200 + 800 + 1000)Rs

- Loss of the shopkeeper = What he gave to others - what he took.
What he took
From Lady: Nothing(as the note was a duplicate one)
From Second Shopkeeper: Rs.1000
What he gave
To Lady:- Rs.200(goods) + Rs.800(change)
To second shopkeeper: Rs. 1000
So the loss = (200 + 800 + 1000) – (1000) = Rs.1000 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(1)
- Correct Answer: C. 1000
Reason:
Since the shopkeeper of the nest shop neither gained nor lost any money,
But the lady gained Rs. 1000.
So there must be a loss of Rs. 1000 for the shopkeeper. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)

- Lady buys good worth of 200 and also get 800 as a remaining money. This she gets 1000 rupee profit. Now because The note is fake shopkeeper has to pay 1000 to the person from which he get the change. Thus he has to face 1000 Rupee loss. In this process we have to keep in mind that The lady is only gainer of profit which is worth of 1000 and The first shopkeeper is only person which has to face loss.

- ---->Shopkeeper of next shop gave Rs 1000 and then took back Rs 1000, so we can assume that he did nothing here.
---->Lady gave a fake note which has zero value, so we can assume that lady gave nothing
So now:
"A Lady buys goods worth Rs 200 and shopkeeper returns Rs 800"
Its clear that shopkeeper gave Lady 200 (goods) + 800 (cash)
And hence the answer is 1000. - 6 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
