Intially man has one rupee with him.In each step he will either increase one rupee by one or multiply with one.How many minimum number of steps he need to make money 1000.

• at starting we have 1 rupee. next time it may be 1*1 or 1+1 is the amount need to be added. We need minimum number of steps so that it will be multiplication rather than addition of anumber.
  so, 1+(1+1)+(2+2)+(4+4)+....=1000
  1+2+4+8+16+.....=1000
  it is a geometric series
  so we need 9 numbers
