  40^240=8^240*5^240 so expression becomes 5^240(8^240-1)+32^240-3^240.
  Now 5 to the power something will always have a no ending with 5. and that no product with odd no will again have 5 in the end. So 5^240(8^240-1) is divisible by 5. Again 32 to the power even - 3 to power even= no ending with 5. So the whole expression is divisible by 5.
