Seating Arrangement
A is 20 percent more efficient than B. If the two persons can complete a piece of work in 60 days, in how many days A working alone can complete the work?

A is 20% more efficient than B
Ratio of time taken by A to B = 100 : 120 = 5:6
Let the time taken by them working alone be 5x and 6x respectively.
Together they can finish the work in 60 days.
(5x*6x)/(5x+6x) = 60
30x^2/11x = 60
x = 2*11 = 22
A alone can finish the work in = 5x = 110 days

A's one day work = 1/x
B's one day work = 1/y
since A is 20% more efficient than B so
1/x = ((1/y)+(20% of 1/y))
y=1.2x
both can complete the work in 60 days, now we have
(1/x)+(1/y)=(1/60)
=> (1/x) + (1/1.2x) = 1/60
=> x = 110 days
so, A can complete his work in 110days
