a man has to paint milestones and each mile stone takes one full bucket of paint.
distance is 100 kms and each km has mile stone.man has to start from the middle of mile stones and each time he has to carry only one bucket with him either empty or full.to complete total mile stones how many times man has to reach middle mile stone?

• since he is standing in the middle...hence he will take 50 travels individually to the middle...after that the remaining 49 he has to travel...for the remaining 49 travels...he will have complete 48 travels(going to the milestone filling the bucket and then returning empty)....for the last millestone he only need to reach their with a filled bucket...paint it....bt he doesn't need to return....

• since per km is a milestone, 100 km will have obviously 100 milestones, but still there are two possibilities:
  a) if two extreme milestones(0th and 100th km) are considered then sum is = 101.
  b) if extreme milestones are removed then sum is = 99.
  Else u consider any other case, then its nt possible to find middle milestone to start with...
  Considering case a): we have 50-50 milestones at each side to paint excluding middle, it is assumed he is already there. Hence simple calculation results in (50+50)x2 = 200 times. But question is after painting last milestone, why he will return to the middle milestone. I think answer must be 200-1 = 199.
