Read Solution (Total 16)
-
- ANS: 1,4,3,2 (2)
In 1st case it is 20%
2nd case 25% profit i.e 200/800*100
3rd case it is similar to 2nd but here we are adding impurity so am not taking it as free so it is less than 25% but greater than 22.22
4th case assume Rs.100 as cost of 1 kg
am selling 900g for Rs.110 according to the condition
so profit is 20/90=.2222
Therefore order is 1,4,3,2 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(10) No(0)
- c)
1. 20%
2. 25% = 200/800
3. 16.66% = 20/120
4. 22.22% = 20/90 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(7) No(2)

let us assume there are 100g sugar and if u mix 20g impurity(cost 0 rs) than total ammount will become 120g.
now cost price of sugar assume 100 rs for 100g
now he will sell the sugar of 100 rs. for 100g.
in 100g (mix + sugar) there will be 83.33g(100*100/120) of pure sugar.
means in 100 rs he sold 83.3g(83.33 rs) sugar and buy 100g(100 rs) of sugar.
gain = 16.66/100= 16.66% - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)

- @Krishna Kanth did you add the cost of impurity in (iii) case???a/c to my calculation if impurity cost is nothing then total profit is around 16.70%.
Plz tell - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- it's option c.
because it's been said that increasing order so minimum profit will be placed in 1st placed.. if it would decreasing order then option b would be right!!! - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)

- @PRANSHU CHAURASIA
if u take impurity cost as Rs.0 then it will be same as 2nd option
i.e. like this
20% of 1kg is impurities i.e. it consist only 800g of pure sugar
so we are selling 800g at cost of 1kg sugar - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- @PRANSHU CHAURASIA

- @SHIVAM ASTHANA
according to you
at last step u had taken for 100 instead of 83.33
u has to take like this
16.66/83.33 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- @krishna
ya i consider that thing bt it will be actually 20/120(change in weight or item/ sold item or weight) bt to explain you i use this way in which shopkeeper got 16.66 rs on wasting just 100 rs and he will get 16.66% profit.
a/c to me..........two option can't be same....... 20% in both the case 1st n 3rd - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- c) option is 3,1,4,2 not 3,4,1,2
and 3=1= 20%
so, right option is c.
i think
i was wrong earlier and the profit in case of 3rd will be same as in 1.
