If the letters of the word ‘PROTECTION’ which are at odd numbered
position in the English alphabet are picked up and are arranged in
alphabetical order from left and if they are now substituted by Z, Y, X
and so on, beginning from left which letter will get substituted by X

  now substituting letters with Z Y X W we get 'I' replaced by 'X'

  Now if we arrange these numbers in Alphabetical order we Get E,O,O,T
  NOW in the third position we substitute X. and we can see that in 3rd position from left we have O ....
  so ans is O.
