A jogger is running at 9 kmph alongside a railway track in 240 meters ahead of the engine of a 120 meters long train . The train is running at 45 kmph in the same direction. how much time does it take for the train to pass the jogger?

• suppose they meet at some point when the jogger has travelled x meter from his current position.
  jogger h as taken 3600x/9000 sec
  the train takes time to travell (120+240+x) meter =(360+x)3600/45000 sec
  and since they cross the point at same time so,
  equating both equation
  3600x/9000 = (360+x)3600/45000
  => x=90
  substituting x in any of the equation
  time=36 sec
