In an election ,30% of voters voted for A,60% of remainig voted for candidate B.remaning voters did not vote.if difference between those who voted for candidate A and those who did not vote was 1200.how many eligible for casting?
Read Solution (Total 4)
-
- 60000
If total voters=x
Votes for A=0.3x, B=(x-0.3x)*60/100=0.42x
Total voted for A & B=0.3x+0.42x=0.72x
So voters didn't voted=x-0.72x=0.28x
Given 0.3x- 0.28x= 1200, 0.02x=1200, x=60000 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(0)
- let the total voters be x
given difference between who voted for candidate a and those who didnt vote =1200
i.e.,30%of x-10% of x=1200
20% of x=1200
then x=6000
only 90% of x are eligible for casting=90% of 6000=5400 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(2)
- 30%= 3 out of 10 goes to A
==>A got 3 votes.
Now remaining votes =10-3=7
60% of 7=4.2 votes
goes to B .
Voters who did not cast their votes ==> 10-(votes of A +votes of B)
10 - (3+4.2)=10-7.2=2.8
Now
given , 3-2.8=1200
solving ,6000 ans - 6 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- let the total numbers of voters be x
it is given that
.3x - .1x = 1200
=> .2x = 1200
=> x=6000
eligible voters = 6000 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(1)
