When I acquired my Mercedes-Benz car in Germany, the first thing I had to do was to get a license plate. The plate I got had a peculiar number on it. It consisted of 5 different numbers and by mistake when I fixed it upside down the number could be still read, but the value had increased by 78633.

• if you take no. any other then 10968 and if you add 78633 it wont be a 5 digit number after adding. nd if you choose any no. starting with 0XXXX you wont get a no. which on moving upside down you can read it as it was.

• 5 different numbers that can be read upside down are 0,1,2,5,8 (all numbers written in digital style)

  So what is the reason behind leaving 2 instead of 0. You can take 2 also and form the no. by adding to 78633.reply soon

• 1,0,9,6,8 are only the numbers which can be read as it is... you can try it at http://www.upsidedowntext.com/ by typing different number as 3,4 etc..
  
  now as 10968+78633=89601 is the answer.. if you take any other combination then it will exceed the 5 digit number..
