  a-b=2
  or a=2+b---------------(ii)
  now (2+b)*b=24
  or b^2 + 2b -24= 0
  (b+6)(b-4)=0
  so b=4, a=6

  LCM*HCF = x*y
  => xy = 24 --------(1)
  
  and, (x-y)= 2 -------------(2)
  
  (x+y)^2 = (x-y)^2 + 4xy = 2^2 +4*24 = 100
  => x+y = 10 --------------(3)
  
  
  from(2)&(3)
  x = 6 , y = 4
