A shopkeeper decides to give a discount of 20% + 30% on the printed price of a watch, but unfortunately the printed banner comes with the print as 30%+40% discount. If he gets a gain of only 5% of actual cost of watch in this new structure then how much profit in a actual cost did he decide to get in the earlier structure.

On giving Successive discount of 20% and 30% the S.P will be 56 Rs.
Also, giving Successive discounts of 30% and 40% the new S.P will be 42 Rs.
According to the Question ,he gets only 4% profit
Therefore C.P will be 40 Rs.
