A rise of 35% in the price of sugar enables a person to buy 2.5 kg of sugar less for Rs. 340. Find the original price of Sugar and new price ?

• suppose per kg sugar =x rs
  340/x - 340/1.35x=2.5
  solving it we get
  x=35.25 rs

• 35% of Rs 340=Rs 119
  So,reduced price of 2.5 kg tea=Rs 119
  Per kg reduction of price=Rs 119/2.5=Rs 47.6
  Now,let the original price of sugar=Rs x
  Therefore,
  1.35 of x=47.6
  So,x=35.259
  i.e. Original price of sugar=Rs 35.259/kg
  Also,new price=1.35 of 35.259=Rs 47.6/kg
