- ans:2
in 'books are old' and 'man is old' 'old' and '5' is common. similarly in 'books are old' and 'buy good books' 'books' and '3' is common. in 253 '2' remains i.e 2='are' - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(32) No(2)
- ans will be 2
in 253 and 546 old is common so old=5
in 253 and 378 books is common so books=3
so 'are'=2 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(6) No(0)
- ans is -2
books are old as- 253 ---eq1
man is old as- 546 -------eq2
buy good books as-378 ----eq3
so comparing eq1 and eq3 we get code for books as 3.
and comparing eq1 and eq2 we get code for old as 5.
now compare again equation 1 with the given code...and code for "are" is --2.

- answer is 2 because in 253 and 546 we have 5 common that means 5 stands for "old". now between 253 and 378, 3 is common that means 3 stands for "books" now in first code 253 only 2 is left that means 2 is for "are"
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(1)
- 1---->253= books are old
2----->546= man is old
From 1 &2 number 5 is common and word old is common so 5=old
1------> 253=books are old
3-------378= buy good books
from 1& 3 number 3 is common and word books is common so 3=books
so in statement 1 only left number is 2 and word is are so 2=are - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
- answer is 2
explanation:- "books are old" and "man is old" common part is old so in that 253 and 546 common no is 5 so old=5. Next "books are old" and "buy good books" common part is books so 253 and 378 common is 3 i.e.., books=3 so are=2 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
- ans is 2
books are old 253
man is old 546
buy good books 378
so comparing all the three we get
"old" as 5
"books" as 3
"are" as 2
wheras
there is uncertainity regarding "man" and "is" which is either 4 or 6
and "buy" and "good" which may be either 7 or 8
but the answer comes up as they ask the code for "are"... - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(1)

- Books are old and buy good books have books in common and 3v in common so 3-repesents books
then we have old common in books are old and man i old so 5 is=old
so from books are old we get are=2

- n 'books are old' and 'man is old' 'old' and '5' is common. similarly in 'books are old' and 'buy good books' 'books' and '3' is common. in 253 '2' remains i.e 'are'=2.

- 2 comes bcz after solving the 3 equations..
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- 5 and old are common in 1st and 2nd code so 5=old
now 3 and books are common in 1st and 3rd code so 3=books
so only left 2 and are in 1st code so are=2 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- 2 is the ans

- ans:2
in 'books are old' and 'man is old' 'old' and '5' is common. similarly in 'books are old' and 'buy good books' 'books' and '3' is common. in 253 '2' remains i.e 2='are' - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- books=3,old=5 then are=2
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- The common choices can be eliminated 3 is code for 'books' and 5 for 'old'.
The code for 'are' will be 2 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- 253:books are old, 546:man is old so old stands for 5 later 378:buy good books so we can say books stands for 3 so are is 2
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- since 5 is common in first two it means old,and 3 is common in first n fourth which means old.therefore only 2 is left which means are
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- 253 means books are old and 546 means man is old ,Therefore code for old is 5.
253 means books are old and 378 means buy good books ,Therefore code for books is 3.
Now d remaining code is 2 which is for are.
code for 'are' is 2. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)

so code for are is 2 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- IN 253 & 546,5=old,in 253 & 378,3=books....so 2=are
- 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- common in first and scnd statement is 'old' and no. common is 5 so code for old is 5. now in first and third statement code books is 3. so 'are' is 2
