Time Distance and Speed
Two person A and B are at two ends P and Q respectively. Both started running towards each other and returns back when reached to other end and continue this.
1) If ratio of speed of A to B is 3:2 and distance between P and Q is 500 meter then what is total distance traveled by A when they meet 3rd time?
2) If speed of A and B is 30 meter/min and 70 meter/min and distance between P and Q is 100 meter then
a) Distance from P to meeting point when they meet 2nd and 3rd time respectively?
b) time taken to meet 3rd time?

- As the ratio of the speeds of A and B is 3:2 the distance covered by A is 300 m and by B is 200 m when they meet for the first time. After that A goes towards Q and B goes towards P. As, the total distance covered by A and B is already 500+2*500+2*500=2500 m when they meet for the 3rd time,
so, the distance covered by A is 3/5*2500=1500 m when they meet for the 3rd time.
a.) Distance from P to the meeting point when they meet for the 2nd time is 170 m.
Distance from P when they meet for the 3rd time is 230 m. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
