Time Distance and Speed
A travels at 40kmph and B travels at 60kmph. They are traveling towards each other and start at the same time. By the time they meet, B would have traveled 120 km more than A. Find the total distance.
Read Solution (Total 20)
-
- ans:600km
s=d/t
let the distance travelled by a=x km
the distance travelled by b=(x+120) km
x=40*t
x+120=60*t
on solving we get t=6
x=240,x+120=360
so total distance=600km

- a speed 40kmph then a travel...
1 hour- 40
2 " 80
3 " 120
4 " 160
5 " 200
6 " 240
......................
B speed 60kmph
then in 1 hour - 60
2 " 120
3 " 180
4 " 240
5 " 300
6 " 360
AFTER 6 HOUR THEY MEET the traven distance is (360-240 =120)
so total distance is 240+360 =600 ans - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(17) No(2)
- ans 600
x=40t
x+120=60t
on solving t=6
total distance=(40*6)+(60*6)=600 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(5) No(0)
- 600 km
x/40=(x+120)/60
x=240 ; x+120=360 ; total dist= 600

- Relative difference b/w them is 20km/hr
and the 2nd train traveled 120KM more. So divide 120 by 20 we get 6. and multiply 6 with both like 6*40=240 & 6*60=360..Now 240+360=600km. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
- let x be distance traveled by A
then B traveled x+120km
as they traveled for same time
then
(x/40)=(x+120)/60
on solving it we get
x=240
there fore A traveled 240 km & B 360 km
then total distance is 240+360=600 km - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- 600km..
after 6 hours both A and B met after covering distances by them. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- ans:600km
let the distance travelled by a=xkm
and the distance travelled by b=x+120km
total speed=(40+60)=100kmph
s=d/t
d=s*t
x=40*t
x+120=60*t
by solving t=6sec
now total distance=s*t
d=100*6
=600km

- distance=(difference in distance*sum of speeds)/(difference in seeds)
distance=(120*100)/20
answer is:600 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- A-x
B-x+120
x/40=(x+120)/60
x=240
x+120=360
total distance=240+360=600km - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- A travels at 40kmph and B travels at 60kmph
after certain time the difference speed is (60-40) = 20kmph
120km difference will be in (120/20)= 6hrs
in 6 hrs A will travel 40*6= 240km and B will travel 60*6=360km
so the total distance is (240+360)=600km - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- ans is 600.

- 60-40=20....20*6=120 i.e (40+60)*6=600

- Ans 600
Correct solution... - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(1)
- let us assume that dis travelled by A is X..then B=X+120
X/40=(X+120)/60
X=240
then the total distance is 600

- 360km ans
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- let distance travel by A is X
and of B is (X + 120)
as we know T= D/s
here both start at same time so,
X/40 = (X+120)/60
on solving
we get to know
A covers 240km
B covers 360km
so final is 600km ans. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- A (speed)=40km/hr & B(speed)=60km/hr
time =constant(both A& B take same time)
let A cover distance=x & B cover distance=(120+x)( a/q )
SO 40*(120+X) = 60*X
we get x=240
so total distance cover by A&B=x+(120+x)=600 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(1)
- time is const.
let distance traveled by A be X
X/40=X+120/60
X=240
X+120=360
total= 240+360=600km - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- let the distance be xkm,then s=d/t
t=x/40---(1) for A
For B
t=120+x/60--(2)
since by the time they meet b have travelled 120km than A
equate 1 and 2 and solve
then x=240km
120+x=320
total distance=240+360=600km .so,ans =600km - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(1)
