After world war II three departments did as follows First department gave some tanks to 2nd &3rd departments equal to
the number they are having. Then 2nd department gave some tanks to 1st & 3rd departments equal to
the number they are having. Then 3rd department gave some tanks to 2nd &1st departments equal to
the number they are having. Then each department has 24 tanks. Find the initial number of tanks of each department?

- iam doing in the reverse process, a=24,b=24,c=24,then c gave them wat they had so a=12,b=12,c=48,and next b had given to others wat they had then a=6,b=42 & c=24,at last a had already given so it turns to a=39,b=21 & c=12.

initially let me take 39 from options
now i am taking some proportions for 2nd and 3rd department so that it must be total of 72 if they not given values for 2nd and 3rd departments,if they have given its every easy.

now let me explain how it works initially 1st department have 39 tanks so it has to give the number what the others are having initally i.e 2nd is having 29 so 1st department has to give 29 to department 2nd and 12 to 3rd department so we have to reduce 21+12 from 1st department i.e after reducing 33 remaing is 6 similarly all the department share among them selves and we will get equal number finally. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(8) No(3)
