raj earns 25 on an investment but loses 10 on another investment.if the ratio of the two investment is 3:5.what is the gain or loss on two investments taken together?
Read Solution (Total 5)
-
- d qstn shd b 25% and 10%
taking the 2 investments to be 3x and 5x
total income of raj = (3x)*1.25+(5x)*0.9 = 8.25
therefore gain%=0.25/8*100=3.125% - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(28) No(7)
- let 2 investment cp1=3x , c2=5x
now, profit 25%=3x/4 ,sp1=3x+3x/4=15x/4
similarly 10% loss=x/2, sp2=5x-x/2=9x/2
total gain=sp-cp=(9x/2+15x/4)-(8x)=x/4
hence gain %= (x/4)/8x *100 =3.125%.

- gain=25% and loss=10%
two investments are 3:5
total incom=3*125/100+5*90/100=8.25
gain%=0.25/8.25=0.3030*100=3.03
3.03% - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(5) No(16)
- gain=25% loss=10%
two investment=3:5 total=8
gain
first investment =3/8*25=9.3
second investment = 5/8*25=15.5
add both investment values=9.3+15.5=25(app)
therefore 25/8=3.124 gain - 5 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(1)
- let the investment be 160
160 divided into ratio of 3:5 as 60:100
25% profit on 60=85
10% loss on 100=90
gain%=(5/160)*100=3.125% - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(4)
