If a seller mark price of item S and after 20 discount on that he get 30 peofit and seller

20 % discount on seller mark price makes the discounted price of the item - 4s/5...30% profit over c.p taken as 100 will be - 130...so,
4s/5 = 130;

s= 162.5...

for 1st condition : s is face value on s it gives 30% profit after giving 20% discount.so cp will be :40s/65;
2nd case if mark price b m then it gives 25% profit .so cp woultd be 4m/5
hence,4m/5=40s/65 =>m=10s/13.then it is evident that s will be a multiple of 13.so ans is option 1>>> 1287.

Let the CP be Rs 100. Then in first case
Price after dis = Rs 80
and S - 80 = 30
Therefore S = 110

2nd case
M = 125

So other is more profitable

let take initial amount is 100 then ofterdedusing it ll be 80
if 80 makes him as 30% pfofitable then 130/100*80=164
the possible value of s is 164

so 130=s-20 % of cp
s=150
