The distance between two cities A and B is 330 km. A cyclist starts from A at 8 am. and travels towards B at 60 km/hr. Another cyclist starts from B at 9 am. and travels towards A at 75 km/hr. At what time do they meet?
Read Solution (Total 2)
-
- Effective speed =60+75=135km/hr
A travelled for 1 hour alone,so A covered a distance of 60 km in 1 hr.
Remaining Distance=270km
Time taken to meet=270/135=2 hr
so they meet at 9a.m +2 hr=11 a.m - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- ans:11am
trial and error method
In 1hour distance covered by A is 60 kms and by B it is 75kms
so 60*x+75*y=330
x=3,y=2
