A lady has fine gloves and hats in her closet- 18 blue 32 red and 25 yellow. The lights are out and it is totally dark. inspite of darkness she can make out the difference between a hat and a glove. She takes out an item out of the closet only if she is sure that it is a glove. How many gloves must she take out to make sure that she has a pair of each colour?

• There can be lots of logic for this, but approach the simplest one so that we approach to one of the solutions. Suppose the lady first picks 32 Red gloves, and then 24 Yellow gloves. The next pair she pics will be one Yellow and One Blue which does not make a pair. The next two will be blue gloves. So she make a total of 32+24+1+1+2 = 60 picks.

  Add max two numebers
  32+25=57 now add 1,2 or 3 acording to given in options..
  So answer from given options is 57+3=70.

• for red -1 (red) + 25(yellow) + 18(blue) + 1 red = 45,,,,,,now red is 30 only
  for yellow - 1 (yellow) + 30(red) + 18 (blue) + 1 (yellow) = 50,,,now yellow is 23
  for blue - 1 (blue) + 30(red) +23 (yellow) + 1 (blue) =55
  total=45+50+55=150
