100 people standing in a circle in an order 1 to 100. No.1 has a sword. He kills next person (i.e.no. 2 )and gives sword to next to next (i.e no.3). All person does the same until only 1 survives. Which number survives at the last?

• my answer logic rules:
  (i) if the last people survived of the next series remains same then the first person is killed
  (ii)if the last person of the next sequence is less than the 1st series then the 1st person remains alive
  (iii)all the sequence goes with an increment like 2,4,8,16,32,.....
  
  these are the people survived
  
  1,5,7,......99 (diff 2)
  1,7,11,.....97 (diff 4),(here 97 1st will be killed
  9,25,.......89 (diff 16)
  9,41,73 (diff 32)
  9,73 (diff 64)
  73 is the last man to be alive

• #bhaskar mandal brother in between 1 and 5 there is a diff of 4 n u are saying that diff is 2....??? wats the logic behind this?
  as no. 1 kills no 2 then the sword will be in the hands of no 3 or no 5? as mentioned in the question that the sword is passed to "next to next" i.e no 3??????
