The ages of two friends is in the ratio 5:6.After how many years will the ages be in the ratio 7:8?

• This question is rather unclear or data inadequate because if we consider the ages of the two friends as 25 and 30 or any other ages other than 5 and 6 years we are unable to get the ratio of 7:8 after increasing the ages by 2...correct if i m wrong.

  Since their present ages are in ratio of 5:6
  Let their present ages be 25yrs and 30yrs
  So after 10 years
  we get, 25+10 = 35
  and 30+10 = 40
  the ratio of their ages after 10 years = 35/40 = 7:8
  
  So, after 10 years their age will be in the ratio of 7:8
