In a race of 600m ,Ajoy beats Vijoy by 60m and in a race of 500m Vijoy beats Anjay by 25m.By how many meters will Ajaoy beats Anjay in a 400m race?

• Let the time taken by ajay to cover 600m be t.
  Therefore, vijay covers (600-60)m = 540m in time t.
  Speed of
  ajay = 600/t
  vijay = 540/t
  a / b=10 / 9.................................Eq 1
  
  Similarly,
  Let the time taken by vijay to cover 500m be t.
  Therefore, anujay covers (500-25)m = 475m in time t.
  Speed of
  vijay = 600/t
  anujay = 540/t
  b / c=20 / 19................................Eq 2
  
  Multiply eq 1 by eq 2 -
  a / c = 200 / 171
  
  Therefore, the time in which Ajay covers 200m, Anujay will cover 171m
  Or,
  the time in which Ajay covers 400m, Anujay will cover 342m
  
  Thus, jaya will beat anujay by 400-342m = 58m

  for every 20 m travelled by ajoy, anjay lacks by 20-17.1=2.9
  after travelling 400 m ajay lacks by 400-(400/20*17.2)=58 meters

• i think ans is 60meter;
  so none of these;
  in 600 m race ajoy lead by 60m soin one m it lead 0.1m;
  in same way vijoy lead 25/500=0.05m;
  so ajoy lead by 0.15m from anjay in one meter;
  so total lead=400*0.15=60m

  vijay:Anjay=500:(500-25)=500:475 {similarly when vijay completes 500 m then anjay wud have covered 475 m}
  so ajay:vijay:anjay=(600/27):20:19
  Now ajay:anjay=(600/27):19
  so (600/27) /19 = 400 / x
  on solving we get x = 342
