If 378 coins consists of rupees, 50 paise and 25 paise coins, whose values are in the ratio 13 : 11 : 7, the number of 50 paise coins will be
(a) 132 (b) 128
(c) 136 (d) 133
Read Solution (Total 3)
-
- let the no. of 25 paise be - x
50 - y
1 rupee -z
so we can write,
(0.5*y)/(0.25*x) = 11/7
=> y = 11/14 x ......(i)
again for 1 rupee and 25 paise
(1.0 *z)/(0.25*x) = 13/7 ...(ii)
=>z = 13/28
total no. of coins
x+y+z = 378
x(1+(11/14)+(13/7))=378
x=168
so the number of 50 paise
y = (11/14)*168 = 132
so option a is the answer
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(5) No(2)
- 132
coz 50 paise are in the ratio of 11
and 132 =11*12
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(5)
- answer is A
only 132 is divisible by 11 - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(4)
