There are some students in the class teacher arranged them in a circle,number 40 is facing number 12 what is the maximum number of boys facing the girls.... 10 number of girls more than boys....?
Read Solution (Total 3)
-
- let there r x no of boys.
So no of girls=x+10
total=2x+10
they r arranged in circle.
40th student is facing 12.
so consider a circle with 12 and 40 opposite to each other just like 12 &6 are opposite in a watch.
therefore no of students in between 40 &12 =40-12-1=27
(like 12-6-1=5 in watch)
now count starts from 1
so (12-1=11 students)+ (16 students)=27 students
therefore last student=40+16=56th student.
total=2x+10=56
x=23
no of boys=23
no of girls=33
maximum possible ways that boys may face girls should be 23 as boys no is less than girls. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(11) No(0)
- let no. of oys = x;
girls == x+10;
40 face 12
so , no.of student between them is 40 - 12 = 28;
so total no.of student(girls+boys)== 28*2==56;
now;
x(boys)+(x+10)(girls)==56;
2x+10==56;
2x==46;
x==23;
so maximum boys face girls is 23;
an no.of girls==33; - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
