A child buy 18 pencil and pay 100 rs. He pay 1 rs more for white pencil than brown pencil. How many white pencil He buy? and what is price of one white pencil

  let 1 brown pencil be y rs.
  
  so, x(y+1)+(18-x)y=100
  =>xy+x+18y-xy=100
  =>x+18y=100
  x=10 y=5

• As 18 pencils cost Rs-100 first divide 100 by 18
  ie. 100/18 = which will be 5.5555555
  So Brown must be less than this value & white must be greater than this value.
  So brown is Rs 5 per pencil & White is Rs 6 per pencil
  So you have X+y = 18
  & 5x +6y = 100
  which gives 10 Whites 8 Browns with 6 & 5 rupee respectively.

  c.p of white pencil+c.p of brown pencil=100
  =>10(x+1)+8x=100
  =>18x=90
  so,x=5

  so, yx + (18-y)(x+1)=100
  =>18(x+1) - y=100
  
  now ,,here think about of the 100 , how can u break the 100 so that
  One part will be the multiple of 18 nd it will be greater than 100 ..
  =18*6 - 8
  
  so.(x+1)=6 and y=8
  (x+1)=6
  So, x=5
  Nd total number of black pencil =y =8 nd white =x=(18-y)= 10
