There are two examinations rooms A and B. If 10 students are sent from A to B, then the number of students in each room is the same. If 20 candidates are sent from B to A, then the number of students in A is double the number of students in B. The number of students in room A is:
A. 20
B. 80
C. 100
D. 200
Read Solution (Total 4)
-
- A has 100 students and B has 80students.
If a is no of students in A and b is no of students in B, then
a-10 = b+10
a+20 = 2*(b-20)
solving these eqns, we get
a=100 - 13 years agoHelpfull: Yes(7) No(2)
- B. 80
A has 80 students and B ahs 70 students.
If a is no of students in A and b is no of students in B, then
a= b+10
a+20 = 2*(b-20)
solving these eqns, we get
a=80 - 13 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(6)
- answer will be 100.
dipin chech ur 1st equation
it shod be like ...
a-10=b+10
................i may wrong but who ever c answer please tell solution - 13 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(2)
- Let number of students in room A and B be a and b respectively.
data1: If 10 students are sent from A to B, then the number of students in each room is the same =>(a-10)=(b+10)
=>a-b=20..................1
data2:If 20 candidates are sent from B to A, then the number of students in A is double the number of students in B=> a=2 times b i.e.,(a+20)=2(b-20)
=>2b-a=60..............2
substitute a=b+20 in eq.2=>2b-b-20=60
=>b=60+40=80.
we know that a-b=20 from eq.1=>a=80+20=100.
hence, a=100 , b=80. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
