one container of a production line solvent is mixed at 20% strenth and another is mixed at 54% strenth .To obtain 7 liters of a mixture that is 38% strenth ,how mny liters should used from the container tht is mixed at 54% strenth?

then 54% solution is 7-x liter for 7 liter solution
reqired average solution is 38%
therefore,
20x+54(7-x)=38*7
20x-54x=266-378
34x=112
x=3.29
thus 3.29 liter solution of 20% strength

so by the rule of alligation
54-38=16
38-20=18
hence 8+9=17 parts.
but total 7litre.
so 17 part=7 litre
1 part= 7/17
hence 9 part will be
7/17*9=3.70 litre.
